Changing Lives

Starts With You

If you’ve ever received a gift that was JUST RIGHT, you know that the value goes beyond the actual item.

It’s the thrill of knowing someone truly understands and cares for you.

JUST RIGHT‘s mission is to meet specific needs for people who are struggling and to give the real gifts of hope and love.

Intake & Applications

Thank you for identifying a need that Just Right may be in a position to meet in full or in part. We invite you to review the following information to assist you and Just Right to arrive at an informed and prayerful decision concerning your identified need(s).

For approval of Just Right funds, your request MUST meet the following criteria:

  • Offer direct benefit to marginalized, vulnerable, or suffering people.

  • The individual(s) with demonstrated need has a relationship or connection with a Grace Community Church attendee

  • The Grace Community Church attendee is serving or connected with the identified organization

  • Do no harm.

  • Support existing work rather than require a program or effort that needs to be created and/or sustained by Grace Community Church and/or Just Right.

IDEALLY, your initiative/request would also meet the following criteria:

  • Involve an element of fun, surprise, creativity and/or the unexpected that together demonstrate perceptiveness in identifying and meeting the needs of marginalized, vulnerable, and/or suffering people.

  • Provide an opportunity to expand the number of people involved in blessing others.

  • Be grounded in trust in the people and organizations involved.

Grace has a long history of partnering with organizations serving vulnerable people, locally and internationally. Just Right will build on that legacy by establishing multi-year partnerships with organizations starting in 2020. Selection criteria will mirror those for individual requests for support, and investment will be available in the form of people, profile and payment.

Unless your application has been marked as urgent in nature, it will be reviewed at the first Just Right allocation team meeting that is normally scheduled to occur following receipt of your application. The Just Right allocation team meets quarterly (January, April, July, and October) to review applications. Please submit your application by first day of the month in which the quarterly meeting takes place in order for your request to be considered that quarter. If you have identified an urgent need, your request will be forwarded immediately to Kristi Cowan, who will share with the team for consideration.

Just prior to the quarterly meeting, a member of the allocation team may contact you to request further information that might be required to complete the process. This contact will likely take the form of a telephone conversation. During the follow-up conversation, you might be asked questions such as:

  • What other supports does the individual or organization in need currently have in place?

  • Would you be willing to share an impact story following the provision of funds/assistance through Just Right?

  • Is there any additional information you wish to provide?

Within one week of the allocation meeting, you will be contacted by a member of the Just Right allocation team with a decision and recommendations regarding your submission. Please note that all shared information will be keep confidential within the Just Right Team.

Just Right also has limited funds set aside to support Grace folks involved in mission work. Contact us at skolseg@sympatico.ca for more information on application criteria and deadlines.
